Hairy is Scary
Just over two years ago I met up with Adam Barker for an early morning ski tour, in Big Cottonwood Canyon. As the sun rose we made our way up Patterson's Ridge to ski the Slabs on the north-east side of Kessler Peak. Several consistent storms and mild temps brought the avi danger down and we were beyond excited to take advantage. That day, Adam let me in on a project that was in the works, that truly caught my attention. An idea for a product that was long overdue, but likely never taken a chance on because we never realized how much it was needed.
The skiing that day was a classic, Wasatch blue-bird day with fresh pow as far as the eye could see. We could have stayed all day, but there was work to do. Adam was in the startup process of launching a business and I couldn't wait for it to see the light of day.
Flash forward two years and we found ourselves on the same skintrack. This time, instead of hearing stories of a brilliant concept, the were stories of entrepreneurship. Stories of wins and losses. Discovery and self-reflection. Endurance, patience, and growth.
