the final countdown

The Wasatch opened up for a nice day on Sat allowing some of us to get out and climb some mountain roads. Tolbert and I hooked up in SLC for a three hour tour of some good hills and a bit of speed work. Slicks on the MTB are just the ticket. With one week to go before the season opener in St. George, it was nice to spin out some of the cobwebs that built up over a long and nonproductive week at the office. None of the riding on Sat or for the rest of this week will be tailored in any way to help produce better results on Sat. but it will be nice to try and put in a few decent hours and hard efforts going into the races. This is the type of early season training that suits me well. Incorporate the race into the plan. I'm not sure how things will fair out but I'm real excited to get some miles on some Southern Utah dirt.
