Here's to then and now
They say all good things must come to an end. I suppose that's true, if you're the type of person that likes to end things. But why not go back for another lap around the course or just make more plans to visit that good thing sometime in the near future. I try to do both.
Last Friday was a pretty tough day but it wasn't the end. My thoughts and feelings about an amazing group of people that I have gown very close to were validated by their support and love for me in return. I made a tough decision a few weeks ago and the result is that I'll no longer be surrounded by those good friends on a daily basis. My three + years at R&R were simply wonderful. It was by no means a fair-tail job (Those are only made up in my mind) and it came with it's fair share of ups and downs. What doesn't? More importantly though, it came with a fresh environment and brilliant minds inside of great people. I'm going to miss that. I'm going to miss the opportunities to be a part of and witnessing big ideas come out of interesting conversation. And not so big ideas lead to far off conversation that has nothing to do with big ideas but it's just more fun to talk about than the big idea that is needed. I'm going to miss talking to those people (The Creatives) as well as the people that talk to the people that are asking for bid ideas (The Account Executives). I'll miss an afternoon lunch ride in the Avenues, up City Creek or along the SLC bench. Cruising any of those with a good friend who shoots more photos on rides than I do. That's a good thing because he does it well while he's not even looking.
I'm going to miss the folks at R&R, but I want them to know that I'm not going to be far away. And my with new adventure in the cycling world hopefully we can still work together on future projects, meet up for lunch rides and if they'll keep me in the loop, sneak in on a creative retreat or an afternoon lunch and laser tag feast. We'll be in touch.
